Lift-off and Flight
As the burners fill the balloon with hot air, it gradually rises, lifting you gently into the sky. The ascent is smooth, offering an immediate sense of tranquility and awe as the landscape expands below you. The flight typically lasts between forty five minutes to an hour, during which you'll float from treetop height up to several thousand feet. The experience is serene, with the only sounds being the occasional burner blast and the natural ambiance of the morning. Scenic Views Once airborne, you’ll be treated to breathtaking panoramic views of the Willamette Valley. On clear days, the sunrise paints the sky in hues of orange and pink, illuminating landmarks such as Mt. Hood in the distance. Depending on the wind's direction, you might drift over the Willamette River, lush vineyards, dense woodlands, and fields rich with hops. The scenery changes with the seasons, from vibrant greens in the spring to golden tones in the autumn, each providing a unique experience. Landing & Toast After floating gracefully across the valley, the pilot will find a suitable landing spot, and the chase crew will be ready to assist with the landing process. Once safely on the ground and packed up, you’ll be transported back to the launch site where a celebratory champagne toast awaits. This tradition dates back to the early days of ballooning and is a delightful way to reflect on your flight and share experiences with fellow passengers. Post-Flight Reflection Throughout the experience, the pilot and crew are available to answer any questions you may have, sharing their knowledge about the history of ballooning and the local area. The entire adventure, including pre-flight preparations and post-flight celebrations, typically lasts about two and a half hours. As a family run business for the last 28 years, our passion is flying and sharing the magic of balloon flight with you. |
